Welcome To:

The Florissant Grange #420

2009 Teller County Road 31

Florissant, CO 80816

The Florissant Grange #420 is a rural Grange. We operate out of a Historical School House purchased by our Grange in 1984 after leasing it since the early ‘60’s.

Our Grange serves our community by providing a center for community activities, organizing fundraisers, Easter and Christmas parties for local children and adults, flea markets, craft shows, music, horseshoes and many more family events. We work together with the Friends of the Fossil Beds, the Pikes Peak Historical Society, the Friends of the Library, Teller County Sheriff’s Office and the Sheriff’s Posse, The Mounted Rangers, the Rocky Mountain Gunslingers and local 4-H clubs and several businesses in our community. Currently we have 51 members. Since January ’08 we have increased our membership by 36 members, by actively getting involved in our community.

THANK YOU

This year the Florissant Grange was able to distribute 10 Christmas meal and toy boxes to 10 Teller County Families who needed help. With donations from the 4th Judicial District Attorney’s Office, the Florissant Fire Department and food donated to our Grange community cupboard, Grange members and friends came together to put the boxes together and deliver them before Christmas. Thank you to Mike Ulrich, the Higgins Family, Ed & Jeanette Zupancic, Sue Zaba and Renee & Alan Caldwell.

NEEDED:

If you have a special skill “from the past” and would like to demonstrate at Heritage Day in July, please contact Renee at 748-0358.

NEWS:

The “OLD SCHOOL HOUSE” paint and renovation fund is growing thanks to donations from our members and friends. Please feel free to make a contribution. Your contributions can be tax deductible through the PICK Foundation (People Improving Communities and Kids), a State Grange 4013C organization. Just ask any Grange member for the tax deduction form and we will be happy to get that to you for your generous donation. If you are writing a check, please make your check payable to PICK and write ‘Florissant Grange’ in the notes area. All donations made to the Florissant Grange through PICK go directly to your Florissant Grange. Thank you in advance for helping us raise the necessary funds to renovate the Old School House, Grange Hall.

The Florissant Grange still needs your canned food donations for our small but well used Food Cupboard. Our Food Cupboard is available for anyone who needs extra in order to make it though the month or week. We also use it at Thanksgiving and Christmas for our Dinner/Food boxes for families in need. If you know of some one who can use help, please let us know. 748-0358

We are reporting again, that member Jack Jenkins is currently in Centennial Rehab. This time he is there for therapy after having his knee replaced. He is doing fairly well and if you would like to send him a card, you can send them to the Florissant Grange at PO Box 395, Florissant, CO 80816 and we will be sure to get them to Jack.

Jammer Tim Bassinger had surgery and is recovering nicely. We hope to see him back at the Jam very soon.

Grange member Carol Larkey also had surgery and is on her way to recovery. We hope to see her at the Jam this Thursday.
